Freedom Pâté
This vegan, cruelty-free Pâté is so simple to make, delicious, nutritious, and satisfying! We can assure you it will become your go-to dish when you have visitors or go on a picnic. There is so much flavour in so little list of ingredients.
Ingredients
- 1 cup dry green lentils
- 150 gr roasted walnuts
- 2 large onions
- 2 Tbs Olive Oil
- Black pepper, coarse, to taste
- Salt to taste
Directions
- Soak the lentils for an hour in cold water, then cook them in water until soft, but not too soft, for about 15-20 minutes. Set aside to cool.
- Roast the walnuts in a dry pan until slightly burnt. Set aside to cool.
- Slice the onions and fry in olive oil in a pan until soft and gently caramelised. Add black pepper and salt.
- In a food processor, process the lentils without the water; add the walnuts and process; add the fried onions and process until you reach your desired texture.
- Add black pepper and salt to taste and keep in an airtight container in the fridge. It will keep fresh for about five days.
